One big beautiful American land yacht SUV at a time. Tesla should join the party!

You know if Tesla made one it would sell like hot cakes

No it wouldn’t. Totally wrong demographic. I think part of the barrier to entry with electric vehicles besides charging infrastructure and range anxiety is the design philosophy that keeps getting applied to them. My parents in their 50s can barely work the basic functions of an infotainment system in a domestic vehicle and still complain about it, going to something like a Tesla that is just a bunch of screens isolates a large contingent of the US, and that happens to be people more likely to buy cars with that price tag.

And it’d break like a VW and be as well refined as (insert something poor here that i cannot think of)

I prefer the Yukon Denali over the Escalade, not that the Denali isnt garrish and blinged out but it is at least slightly less lewd. I wish they still made Suburban/Yukon 2500's

Tesla should totally offer a modern superlux giant limo line. The customers for that already have lots of dosh, and since when is range a consideration for a limo?

Isn’t the X a large enough Stepfordian egg? I don’t want to see a larger piece of pseudo-modern design.

You can get a 3500, if you search around a bunch.

I’d like to see an Acura version of this.

Didn’t know Oldsmobile made an SUV...oh, wait that’s a Lincoln.

“beautiful” and“current-gen lincoln navigator” belong nowhere near each other. They slapped some new head and tail lights on a body nearly unchanged since 1998 and have called it good since then. It’s disgusting.

If great is used as a synonym for obese/gaudy, then sure.

That’s actually a decent point. But I think you’re underestimating the buying power of gen X. They can be techy and have the money to buy a bigger SUV

Current generation. I think I agree with you. Last generation the Denail was a little ugly for me

Obese/gaudy has defined American design since the 50s. Just look at tail fins. If it worked then it will work now too.

Agreed. One of the reasons why I, save a few exceptions, don’t like American cars.

They can be, but in general the average car buyer for a big SUV and vehicles over say, $40k, tend to be older. I think it is an interesting balance point, we take these EVs and hybrids and we make them look futuristic and I am genuinely curious how many buyers that isolates. I don’t generally think baby boomers are interested in EVs but the styling and design in my opinion pushes them even farther away. Especially here in the midwest.

These cars have one big problem though.

This exists.
